Almost surreal

Nice shot Rooster.

How was Truk? Is it more of a wide angle place?
I will go there for 2 weeks at the end of the year :)

Velvia? It would have been nice with a small sun!

TJO once bubbled...

Thanks, that was my 8th trip there. Actually this trip was the first time I shot more Wide Angle than Macro. One of the great things about Truk, is it has both great macro and wide angle opportunities. I was shooting Provia for WA and Velvia for Macro. I'll post a macro shot for you.

8 times! That's a lot. So you must have liked it.

Do you know any good books on the history and the wrecks there?
I am doing some reading about the war now before I go to Truk/
Palau end of this year.

Yes I love Truk. It's my favorite dive destination, with Palau a close second. Being close to places like this is one of the reasons I live on Guam. I highly recommend the book Hailstorm Over Truk Lagoon by Klaus Lindemann. The ISBN for the hard cover is 981-00-2968-3. There is also a soft cover available. I also recommend the Lonely Planet book, Diving and Snorkeling Chuuk Lagoon. This is written by another resident of Guam (and friend) Tim Rock. The ISBN # for Tim's book is 1-86450-029-8. If you stop through Guam on your way to Chuuk (Truk) or Palau, look me up, we'll get wet.
