Stay away from the Hypercrap hoods...mine would do the same thing after the first dive and now it just sits in my garage...the material is just too stretchy...the gold core line on the other hand is out of this world...i have the hooded vest.

This worked for me :
With the hood on, using the mirror, mark the highest spot.
Remove the hood. Pierce the hood with a very hot, small nail or punch.

That works well with almost any hood!

I have had a Hyperstretch hood for a couple of years now, but I only dive with it in the winter. I have had no venting issues with mine.

Interesting thread. I've got a cheap hooded core warmer that tends to trap gas. I think I'll go punch a hole in it.
