and that two senior members have a lot to say on the subject of lollipops... and competing for lollipops (hmm, make that three senior members - and I'll leave the job of analysing the Freudian symbolism of that to you, CD...)

Don't be messing with my lollipops!

But a couple of girls I know wanted to find out just how many licks it REALLY took to get to the center. I would tell ya where the tootsie pop was, but this IS a family board...

:giggle: Ewww!

I am coming to get your lollipops. :)

Wait that sounded dirty didn't it.........nevermind I don't want your lollipops.....I want my own lollipops.

I would smack the kids too...

I have to actually work for a couple days, and look where this thread goes....

...And I was going to wish you a happy birthday. Enjoy it!

Thanks to everyone (you know who you are) who gave some intelligent advice. The dog is doing better every day.
For those who had no desire to help, (you also know who you are), I skipped you messages anyway.

I am glad the beatings have commenced and the dog is shaping up. It is truly a wonderful feeling to come home from work and have it cowering in the corner with its tail between its legs, isn't it?

Another tip: If it starts not being scared of the wiffle bat, then upgrade to something larger and the fear will increase. I would suggest a Louisville Slugger..

How about for those of us that did a little of both??

This is a great training aid for whoever wins O-ring in the auction. Just hope he doesnt subscribe to that old saying "Stick n Stones may break my bones, but whips n chains excite me" or you could be in serious trouble...

I once got bit by a dog at a field trial that I was competing in. Come to find out that the owner was a local cop from my home town. This dog was a great hunting dog and was very protective of the family members. Some times I think he was a little too protective. From time to time I would talk to the guy or see him at a trial. One day I ran into the cop and asked about his dog and he said Dead. "oh...sorry ...how?" I shot him!
I felt real bad and asked if it was a hunting Accident and was told the following story:

IF YOU ARE 11 YEARS OLD OR THINK MORE OF ANIMALS THAN PEOPLE ....OR IF YOU CRY WHEN WATCHING BAMBI YOU BETTER SKIP THIS NEXT PART!!!

Skip says: I came home one day from work and found the baby sitter sitting in the corner of the living room with a book and a can of soda with my dog standing over her. It seems that when she approached one of the kids the dog backed the poor girl into the corner and bit her once when she tried to come out. The kids tried to call the dog off but it would not stand down. The dog allowed the kids to approach the baby sitter and take her anything she wanted but would not back down or let her out.
The baby sitter refused to allow the kids to call me at work for fear of getting into trouble and decided to wait the 4 hours until I came home.
I called the dog off, walked out into the yard and dug a hole.
I told the dog to sit in the hole and shot him in the head.
I really loved that dog but I will be God Damned if I will ever allow anything like that to happen again to ANY kid."

A few months later he told me that he bought one of the pups his dog sired. I asked if it was a good hunter and he said that it was a great dog but had the same disposition as his dad.
