Hello All;

I am trying to get my SAC done and I am not sure the formula is correct.

This is what I get.

Average depth: 70 fsw
Dive time: 35 minutes
PSI used: 2400 psi
Tank used: 100 cuf rated at 3440 psi

I get a SAC of 0.67

Can you confirm

Thanks

*this is not an actual dive is just an exercise

I get .64.

2400 psi/35 min = 68.6 psi/min
100 cu ft/3440 psi = .029 cu ft/psi
68.6 x .029 = 1.99 cu ft/min (at depth)
1.99 / (70/33 + 1) = .64 cu ft/min at 1 ATA

Another thing if you want it accurately - don't use "average depth". Instead, swim at a constant depth for a period of time (10 minutes works well). Note pressure at start and end of the time, then use the formulas above. It will be more accurate.

What I like about the spearfishing website posted above is they also give you the formula, so you can try it yourself, then check with the calculator ...

OMG. You mean diving involves MATH? What did I get myself into?

Only if you want it too. :crossbone
