If anyone has the time and inclination, I would love help identifying fish from my recent dives in Fiji. I'm a new diver (certified June 2007), and very new to identifying (also to underwater photography, as you can tell... cheap camera with no external flash, but I hope to change that over time!).

If anyone would like to post comments, my gallery is located at:

Thanks!

Dan - Welcome to ScubaBoard!

For hints on how to embed or attach your images so they are easier for people to view (you'll get far more help if people don't have to work very hard!) please follow the Pink Link in my signature - just scroll down and you'll find tips there.

Hope you had a fabulous time in Fiji!

When posting a "Name that Critter" query, if you will include the following information (or as much of it as you can) it'll help a great deal in figuring out what we have...
(1) How big is the critter?
(2) Where in the world is the critter?
(3) What sort of habitat (reef, wreck, sand, rubble etc) is the critter in?
(4) How deep is the critter?
(5) What time of day (or night) did you see the critter?
(6) Any observed behavior of the critter...
(7) If the locals have a common name for the critter, what is it?
Thanks,
Rick
If you'll also let us know which pictures you're wanting ID's on that'll help.
Just perusing the pages you linked to, you have "the usual tropical mob" there. :)
