Red,

I'm a big guy also and I'm confortable with the xl or 2xl BC's. We carry them both if you need help finding the right one.

Happy Diving

If you go with a backpalte wing setup there are wider backplates made by DSS

I am also 6'3 and 284lbs. I have had no problem finding kit.

I use Bare drysuit, henderson wetsuit, Halcyon BCD it all fits great.

Big_Red:
well I am new to the boards and to the diving world but Me and My wife would like to become divers for trips that We have planned. My first problem is this. What do I need gear wise to dive. We will only be diving in warm places like FL HI and on some crusies and We dont know what gear We need. the other problem is, Well I am a big guy I am 6'2 and pushing 365 trying to find a wetsuit or a BC in My size is really hard. So MY point is what do I have to have to dive safe and if diving in warm water do I need a wetsuit or a bc. whatever I do need does anyone know where I could find it in My sizes.

thank you all
Red

You're not certified yet?

Save yourself a ton and buy the bare minimum for your class. Mask, snorkel, fins. They'll rent you/loan you the rest.

If you get your cert in the type of water you'll be doing your diving in, AND you still feel you'll be diving more than once a year, then you'll have a better handle on what to buy.

Buying all your gear now might prove to be a very costly mistake
