i'm about to buy some more scuba gear and i was thinking that i might want to get into tek diving i was told the only way to go was a backplate / wing set up
so now i'm looking for a good backplate / wing something that i can keep for a long time if i get deep into tek diving (no pun intended)

so I need some help
i would like to keep the cost around 650 or under if i could. maybe a package deal??
also if you could post links of where i could get them

i would like this set up two take both single and double tanks.

so give me your best and thank you for all your help
cheers

given your future plans I'd say that's good advice.

I don't know what options you have locally but you should try to consult with great-lakes divers to see what they're using.

Personally I use a Diverite wing because they're common, good quality and affordable where I live.

One BP will do for both but you'll want two wings; one for singles and a larger one for doubles

Halcyon, OMS, DSS & Oxycheq are all popular with board members, you'll find plenty of threads debating their relative merits

Start with a single tank setup - you'll be able to get something decent for around $500 - and then add a doubles wing later

If you want more specific advice it would help if you tell us where you plan to dive, conditions, water temp, exposure protection etc, although since it seems you're new to diving I appreciate that you might not have firm ideas yet. It would also help to say what gear you currently have

Good plan to go BPW from the start though, you won't regret it

i'm kinda new to diving but i free dive all the time :-)
most of my diving will be cold water for now. around the vancouver (canada) area
most of the time ill be wearing a 7mm farmer john freedive suit. but i guess i should look into getting a dry suit :depressed:
up till now i have just used a scuba pro bcd

any links on one web stores that have good deals for a back plate and single wing?
also i want to go some where warm to intern as a dive master around the end of summer so i want something thats good for that. are there any stores that have a BP/W and harness set up for a good deal? or is it better to build my own ?

Try this. It is $375 at Scuba Toys less 10% if you ask for the scuba board discount.

I got the 30# wing, standard harness and AL plate, the only thing I added was the sex bolts.

If you are not planning on traveling much, the S/S plate might be a thought.

I'd go SS anyway, for 3# it's not that critical - although the alloy plates can be cheaper

You could also look at omscloseouts.com attic sales and leisurepro.com

i was thinking SS

so i just found this Beuchat Masterlift Tek. Bcd - jackets Jackets, Scubastore.com, buy, offers, scuba-diving

is something like this not a good idea??
i get all my free diving stuff from them and i'm about to order some more stuff so i could just tack this on.
or is this something ill regret later?

i'm looking at going to thailand to do my dive master maybe i could just get a BP/W when i get back ......
