Hi everyone!
If you haven't heard of SUDS already I'd like to introduce you all to Soldiers Undertaking Disabled Scuba (SUDS). The program is designed to help improve the lives of severely injured veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. By training the warriors in a challenging and rewarding activity, it can help facilitate the rehabilitation process and promote mobility unlike any other sport. SUDS is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization and a chapter of the Wounded Warrior / Disabled Sports Project.
On Saturday, February 19th, in partnership with volunteers from South Florida Divers, Inc. and the Miami International Boat Show, there will be an invitation only reception to raise awareness and raise donations for this organization. Throughout the entire Show, SFDI will be at Booth #1940 in the Dive and Travel Harbor displaying items available for a silent auction. We are acquiring dive travel opportunities, SCUBA gear, boating equipment and dozens of other wonderful items to bid on. We will be accepting bids and donations on behalf of SUDS in the booth. The winners of the auctions will be announced at Saturday evenings reception. Raffles during the reception will give further opportunity to donate to SUDS and win great prizes.
To get an invitation to the reception, just come by our booth and make a bid on an item. We are still seeking donations for auction and raffle items too, and we would of course give anyone that donates an invitation. So, any of you dive shops or boats out there that would like to help, there's still time to contribute!
Hope to see you there!
