Hello! The more research I do the harder it gets to decide where to dive in the red sea! Please help me decide :D
I have 7 days to dive dive dive! I will be traveling solo (female). I have an advanced open water certification with 60+ dives.
Not sure if I should do a liveabroad or stay on land (I'm leaning towards a liveabroad). For 7 days of diving tell me where should I dive in mid July? I just can't decided!

Thanks!

If the sole purpose of your trip is diving then liveaboard wins hands down. Its as many dives as you can stomach every day and in the best sites.

My preference that time of year would be a northern wrecks and reef liveaboard itinerary. Ras Mohammed will be in full bloom, bigger stuff around.

Maybe a non live aboard option could be the Masha shagra village from Red sea diving safari. I was there two times and loved the place. It is also easy to find buddies in this place. Do not expect a fancy swimming pool or resort but great ambiance where almost all visitors are divers.

Not unimportant is that Elphinstone is only a half hour away on a RIB.

In 3 weeks i will go to their Lahami village. This is a bit more primitive and i have no experience with this village.

Liveaboard for sure if you want to dive the best spots. More and better dives, nice price... I love it. We'll be there in the end of July, this year we plan a route from Hurghada to Marsa Alam.

Liveaboard. I would recommend a Blue O Two trip - something like "Best of the Best" or "Northern Wrecks and Reefs". You really can't beat it if you don't mind paying the price for high season!

Plus, if you're a lone female traveller you will get unwanted attention (or at least attention if you do want it) anywhere outside your hotel - and probably even in it at many hotels - on the land. On liveaboards there is (so I am told) a lot less hasle. You might be fine with it and that's up to you but if what you really want is a week of solid diving why waste time doing anything that you might not fully enjoy?

Whatever you decide - have fun!

go for a liveaboard.. get a trip witht he golden triangle: brothers, daedalus and elphinstone.... deep walls, most of the time strong currents but marvelous reef and big pelagics.... Mid july is the beginning of the season !
Shagra in July will be very HOT, air temperature around 35-40 and water temperature 25-27 but you will be mostly shore diving so expect lots of effort on land.

Liveaboard- Sharm's Sharks Yolanda will be nearing it's peak time for fish numbers. On its given day, I rate it as the best wall I've ever dived.

I'd agree with that. Ras Mo at its peak the end of June into July is absolutely stunning.

Hi,

Read through this Home Page I have been to the area quite a few times over the years, I am not a hardcore diver and prefer shore diving and day boats.

You are not saying what your budjet is, so here are some recommendations where I have been :

Marsa Alam, Coraya Bay and Coraya Divers 4* and 5* star hotels good diving at the house reef, day boat trips to nearby sites, day trip to Elpinstone is on offer.

El Quseir , Pharaoh Dive Club and the newest addition Aquatic Divers, hotel Flamenco Beach & Resort, great diving at their respective house reefs and nearby shore sites.
