Hey gang. A Poseidon regulator was given to me a while ago and I need a hand identifying the model. I'm wanting to say its an older Cyklon 5000, but the 1st stage looks a little different than the newer models I'm able to get photos of. The regulator has a DIN 1st stage with a k-valve adapter (which I think is pretty cool). The 2nd stage is made out of metal. Any ideas? ???

Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Looks a lot like the Poseidon Cyclon 300 sitting in the bottom of my gear locker. Purchased sometime around 1973-1974. Lovely little reg.

You know... the box had a nice cardboard sleeve that said the model number and I THINK it said "Cyklon 300", but I lost the sleeve a few months back. I believe you are right. A google search for "cyklon 300" brings up this image:

It looks to be identical. Any ideas on how I can be sure? Thanks again!

Yup, it's a Cyklon 300. I use one myself - great reg although it can be a big pain in the butt (and the wallet) to service. If it was free, it's definitely worth the expense of maintaining it.

you would think that Poseidon being the high end reg company that they are would come out with a nicer looking DIN adapter. that is the same one that they use on the current Xstreams.

I have the original booklets and cut away diagrams in case you want a scanned copy of them.

As the others say it is a great reg. Definately worth havingThe adaptor dates back to the 50s or 60's that why it looks that way. The reg is also designed for a fireman's full face mask by the way

As you know, it's a Cyclon 300. I bought one in 1978 and used it until my daughter gave me a more modern reg in the early 90's that was capable of delivering much more air and, far more importantly, much easier to find someone to maintain it.

When I could get a service kit, I did overhaul it myself a few times and still have the service instructions, about a 20-page manual.

Would you be willing to scan and send it?

Would you be willing to scan and send it?

No, it would take too much time playing with resolution and format to be sure the copy is a decent one. Sorry.

However, if you'll pay for copying and postage, I'll do that since I have to go to a copy shop next week anyway. The total cost should be under $5.
