am going to liveaboard at great barrier reefs next april and will take 3n3d in spirit of feedom, but i want to make it cheaper by using last minute, however i donot know exactly about it,who knows and how to make it?

The only last minute I know is lastminute.co.uk, which was launched a few years ago with the idea that, if you don't mind where you're going and can go now, you can get cheap flights and hotels. While living in London I found it useful if I wanted to see a new city in Europe and didn't care which one.

It seems to have changed into just another travel web site now, though. I've had no experience with the Australian version.

Traditionally to get last minute spots on the liveaboards you should arrive at cairns and do a walk around all the local dive stores: they often advertise spots on upcoming live aboard trips that havn't been filled. You may however have to wait several days and may not be able to get the trip you want: so you have to balance saving a few hundred dollars vs the cost of sitting around in cairns doing nothing. There are several dive website that handle trips from various liveaboards (google 'great barrier reef dive liveaboard' to find them) - but I'm not sure if they offer last moment discounts.

Do yourself a favour and go on a 5 day+ trip: shorter trips don't go to the best sites. Of the various liveaboards the undersea explorer tends to be cheaper. I can also recommend Taka, Nemrod, Sprit of Freedom and Mike Balls trips.

(BTW last minute Australian hotel rooms are covered in most major online accommodation sites - such as www.wotif.com)

Cheers,
Rohan.

Also have a look at this post for a possible cheap ticket on the sprit of freedom
