Hope this is ok to post in the 'Australia' section. It's more of a classified, but only related to Australian divers.

Anyway, I'm a final year mechanical engineering student and the time has come to embark on my thesis project.
For those of you who haven't done a thesis, it's REALLY hard to think of something that hasn't been done 1000 times before (and is physically possible). I possibly have an original idea!

The point of this thread is that I want your old reg's. I'm a student (so very, very poor) but I need to get my hands on a spare 2nd stage. This can be in any condition (working is preferred). I'm affraid I can't offer much in return but will pay what I can.

Please PM or reply here if you have any old 2nd stages you're able to donate to a poor student or sell very cheap.

Thanks,

- Simon

Why not try your LDS, they may have some old ex rentals they would be willing to part with.

A while ago i wanted to be able to use some air tools, and didnt want to fork out for a compressor, so I went to my LDS and they gave me an old first stage that i now can hook up to a scuba tank and run my air tools :) :)

Good idea. Might just try that. I'll get my plan together - could help convince them if I can show what my plans are. Cheers.

I have tons of old crAp yoU can have. I have tried to sell it, and was going to strip it down, service it all and make some decent reg sets out of it.

Exactly what do you need?

You an pay the postage and by me a beer if you ever get up to Cairns. Then its yours.

May be easier to phone me or drop me a line rather than clutter up the forum site.

Drop me a private message and I will give you my phone number and e-mail address.

Kevin

Thanks so much Kevin!
I'm still in the very early stages of the project. I'll wait until you're back home (as per your PM) then let you know exactly what I'm after and we can arrange something.
Thanks again!
