Hiya,

I've just registered and I think these boards are great. I've recently started my SSI OW course. My boyfriend told me about scuba diving (he's a PADI AOW) and I finally got around to doing a Try Dive a few weeks ago and I loved it, I enrolled on the course only a few days after the try dive.

I've done two pool sessions so far, the first was a snorkelling one and the second was with all the kit on and I learnt how to:

take my regulator out and put it back in underwater and clear it by blowing out through it and by using the purge valve. I also learnt how to find the regulator if it comes out and floats out of sight. I then learnt how to clear a partial and fully filled mask.

I'm off to Orlando in June/July to go to Disney (this was booked well before I'd discovered diving) but we're going to go to Epcot's Divequest as this is the only way we can include diving in this holiday (due to lack of car).

Anyway thats my intro,

Ophelia :life:

Hiya Scuba Texan,

Have you even been to Divequest? I've read some reviews about it, is it as good as most people say?

The water is phenomenally clear. It's purposely kept slightly cold to benefit the fish, Disney provides wetsuits. In fact Disney will provide all the equipment needed, you're actually not allowed to use your own, except for your mask. So don't lug your gear all that way since it sounds like that's the only dive you'll be doing.

If you're there with non-divers, they can film you from the outside of the tank, my niece/nephew thought it was great seeing their dad in the tank.

Definitely worth doing...

Howdy!
