Hi Geekdiver, welcome to the boards! There's a lot to be learned around here! I'm fairly new around here still also. Couplea questions... where/what are Blue Lagoon and The Reef? I used to live in Houston, but never heard of either of these places.

The Reef and Blue Lagoon are scuba parks.

The Blue lagoon is an old flooded quary Located in Huntsvile. The Reef is located in South Houston near the Astro Dome and it look like there is a new scuba park that Just opened down south in Houston near Hwy 288 called Twin Lakes. You might want to check the thread under the Texas section about the Reef. Sound likes it's not one of the better places. Blue Lagoon is supposed to be fairly Clear and a good place to dive for starts, big training site for new Houston scuba divers but doesn't have any fish or anything. Couple of people made comments that Twin lakes may be in the rough stages now but may turn out to be a Good Scuba Park.

Geekdiver,

Thanks for the info! When I lived in Houston (Sugarland actually), it was 7 years BD (before diving). But now it looks like a less expensive place to go than overseas for diving, seeing as how everything up here (in Colorado) is still under a few inches of snow, and we've been to Hawaii and Bahamas for diving in the last six months. Having withdrawals already though. :(

And considering I just got laid off last week, we need to try to keep our addiction to diving as economical as possible til the paychecks flow once again for me. :)

Will check them all out on the web. Thanks for the links!
