Hello

Hello to all,

I'm new to diving. I have made a couple of OW dives (into to Scuba in Mexico) but I don't have a C-card yet. I plan to fix that this April when the weather warms up a bit. I have been snooping this board for awhile so thought I would join in.

I live in Houston and grew up in Central Texas so I guess that makes another Texan to join this board.

Welcome aboard! I just recently obtained my c-card and now have 8 logged dives. I was in your shoes just a few months ago so I know what you have to look forward to. You will enjoy it!

Welcome Geekdiver. Fairly new to this board as well - but have been hooked for the past couple of weeks. It's been a great way to learn about the sport while waiting for OW certification!

I am also awaiting the thawing waters of eastern Texas to
do the class. I will take mine in the big city of Athens Tx
which is 90 miles south of Dallas. Enjoy the board and don't
think twice about asking this crowd a question.

Thanks to all for the kind words. Now if only the the weather would warm up a bit.

My Bro-inlaw used to DM for one of the bigger LDS's here in Houston and he's going to hook me up with a good instructor. They do the OW dives at Blue Lagoon. Once I get my C-card I hope to dive at Athens to get some more practice.

Has anyone near Houston dove at "The Reef" it's here in houston near the Astro Dome?
