My name is David. My wife and I started diving late 2009 ... we love it.

I purchased Aeris AI dive computers and have had nothing but problems managing the dive site data, and dive locations on my windows 7 PC. I have downloaded the newest software, unloaded, and reloaded. Everytime I get the same results. The dive sites get changed somehow. When I try to change the data back to the correct site, it won't save the new data. Very flaky.

I have asked Aeris for help and support but they are silent.

I posted the following on the manufacturers forum in scubaboard:

I really would like some help getting access to the dive logs on my Aeris AI Dive computer. I have been using the supplied software with updates from the Aeris support website since September of 2009.
I keep trying the software hoping for a different result .... (definition of insanity).
I love the computer, but the PC software does not run correctly on my windows 7 computer. When I download new dives to my PC the dive site and dive locations do not always work. The software periodically assigns its own dive site and then will not allow me to change it in the dive log or dive location sections. I have reported problem on the areis technical support website every year. No feedback, no solution, nothing.

I really love my Aeris AI ... but this is way to simple to fix ... please release the software as open source so it can be fixed by people who love the hardware. If you think your software is proprietary and helps you sell products you are kidding yourselves.
Please get your support people on board solving these problems.
If you need someone that knows how to fix these problems ... I would be happy to consult with your support team.

If anyone out there has a hack, or other software that will let me access the dive details (including starting pressure/ending pressure) ... please let me know. If there is an open source software tool/solution ... that would be great.

Thanks for reading my rant.

You need to call the support line (800) 435-3483 ext.761 most of the time you will not get a response from the email if you look at both the oceanic and aeris forum you will see a lot of complaints about email not being answered it like a black hole.

The dive details are a lock area in the program.

i recommend just keeping your data on a spreadsheet.... once you get over 500 dives, it starts to get crazy keeping books everywhere and software is often program specific. i keep it simple. date, dive #, max depth, bottom time, exposure suit, weight, location, notes.

Thanks for the feedback ... I will call the 800 number to see what they might offer. I am thinking that the spreadsheet might be the best answer. Although, it sure is nice to be able to get the dive profile and start and stop pressure without writing everything down on the dive boat.
