Hey everyone,

I'm new to the scuba scene and just signed up. Got my OW last month in the Caribbean, it was absolutely stunning there and I rapidly converted from - I will never strap myself to a tank of air and go diving - to - obsessively looking at when I can book my next dive trip. The coral and fish there were eye opening, and it's really hard to imagine not falling in love with it.

My next trip is already booked, heading to Cozumel in June for a week. I am also looking to fit a long weekend dive trip in between now and then. Thinking of signing up to do AOW while in Cozumel. I am based in NYC so it's allot easier to do training while traveling. I've looked at the price of doing some training local and it can almost be the cost of a trip anyway!

At the moment I am just surfing forums and wish listing gear. Not rushing into anything, but the first purchase will probably be a Garmin InReach so the boat doesn't leave me in the ocean lol

The boats are mostly pretty diligent. It’s a hazard sure but addressing it shouldn’t be top priority. If you’re shopping for gear mask, fins, and suit that fit and work well should be first purchases, then a computer. These are personal things that are harder to rent.

Well that's what I want to hear. Yes I am planning to have fins/boots and suit for Cozumel, already purchased mask form DGX.
