Hello. I am Mark from Highland Park, NJ. Im just starting out. I just got my OW cert. last Oct. (2010) and I now currently have 11 dives under my belt all in fresh water at Dutch Springs. My current set up is Bare 7mm wetsuit, Neosport 7mm boots, Akona 5mm hood and gloves, Scubapro Clear Vue 4 mask, Zeagle Z-Rd reg, Sherwood Brut octo, Cressi Aquapro 5R BCD, Genesis Resource computer w/ Sherwood press. guage and compass, Princeton Tec impact XL flashlight, Mares Raptor split fins, and OMS steel 98 tank. Looking to be doing alot of shore dives and maybe a boat dive or 2. Gonna be purchasing a Bare 7mm hooded vest for when I start diving again in March. Gonna be going to the Manasquan RR bridge for my first SW dive. I just got back from an open pool session at the Scuba Connection where i was testing all my gear out. Look foreward to hearing from everyone and seeing u guys out there!

Welcome to SB and the wonderful world of diving my friend. You will find a lot of new friends on this board and many will end up diving with you as well hopefully. I am from Virginia and I dive the East Coast (NC and FL areas). This summer I plan on doing Great Lakes and Maine as well. Feel free to drop me a line in case you have any questions or would like to buddy up with someone in the East coast area.

Cheers -

Sinbad

You want to dive BC on the way back from Florida? BC as in British Columbia Canada?

It opens in early April and you can expect water temps in the low 40s. Hope to see you there or in NJ in 2011!

Check out Dive NY, it's a large social diving group here on the board. We meet pretty regularly to dive at Dutch and other locations. Members are from all over the place, not just NY.

Welcome to Scubaboard, Mark. Good luck with your class. Scuba Connection is a great shop and always at Dutch.

Definitely pop into DNY, we have members with various degrees of dive experience. Surface intervals at Dutch are always a hoot with DNY!!

Welcome to DNY! Mark and best of luck on your cert.Dives

sinbad, i meant nc. lol that was a typo.....

Ive lived in charlotte, concord, mooresville, and hickory so i was pretty much on the west coast. i did do a trip to the battle ship once, that was fun. but i never went to the beach in nc. kinda sucked because it was so far.
