Hello, I'm new, too....

I'm a fairly new diver (just got certified last October in San Carlos) and only have 15 dives under my dive belt. I've dived San Carlos and Cozumel so far, but am going to La Paz for a week in October and a week in Fiji in February (can't wait!).

Has anyone been to Fiji? I'll be staying at the Beqa Lagoon Diving Resort on Beqa Island - anyone been there? Would like some feedback and some interesting stories...

Welcome to SB! No doubt you've done some awesome dives. Can't help you with info on La Paz and Fiji. Hang around here for a while....... check the forums for the area of interest. Feel free to ask anything you like.... SBers have an answer for ya- that's how we are!

I've just booked two big groups into Beqa Lagoon resort next year - they have given us an amazing deal which I just can't believe, given the quality of the resort. We paid more for 2.5 star this year at Kadavu. so everyone is very excited. I've seen mostly very positive reports re diving and the resort itself and had some great feedback from Sarah Manning at Allways Dive Expeditions in Melbourne AUstralia - who first recommended the place very excitedly. The shark dive nearby is also a huge feature - with Bull Sharks and the occasional Tiger. I found a good trip report on www.wiscuba.com and there are verious reports around out there in cyberspace. Seems to have been a problem back a few years, but the resort has been fully renovated and ot looks great to me.

So good luck and enjoy - we're going both in in late June and early September.
