Hello!

I got my diving license 2 years ago and do warm water rec dives whenever I can, which is usually during my summer and/or xmas holidays. So far I've done just 15 dives. After my latest dives I decided to buy some equipment online so I came over here to find out what advanced divers are using. Great site and great info.

I've had my wetsuit and mask for over a year, and my girlfriend gave me a hood and reef master camera last year for xmas. Recently, after reading this board, I decided to buy the TUSA xpert zoom fins (black) from unrealfind.com since they had a special deal on those + I got some cheap dive boots from ebay. I still plan to buy a knife and a light for night dives. BC and the rest will have to wait until I have more money.

What are your thoughts on head mounted lights? I need both of my hands to use my camera, but I obviously also need light when taking pics, so holding a torch light in one hand sort of gets in the way. I do plan to get a convenient torch as well, maybe something I can strap to my right forarm, but an additional light monted on my head would be useful.

p.s. there's another floater, but he only posted 5 posts 3 years ago and nothing since, so I went with *Floater* because that's the name I wanted.

By the way, this is just my intro post, rather than one to request opinions about dive lights (though any opinions about those would be welcome).

A little more about myself: Right now I'm a grad student studying in the US. I dive mostly in the Philippines during my holidays. I'm in my mid-20s and in good shape. My open water diving license is from SSI, but I plan to do the advanced course with PADI or whatever agency happens to be represented at my next vacation spot.

Heya Floater and welcome to the Board! :wavey:

Thank you all for the greetings. Right now I'm still reading old posts, mainly the ones concerning equipment as I'm trying to find out what's good and where the best deals are. The discussions about the different fins were especially helpful. You have a great community over here.
