Things have finally settled down after my move to Minneapolis in the middle of last year, and our trip back to South Florida for the kids upcoming Spring Break has got me thinking about getting back in the water on a more regular basis.

Being a confirmed warm water wussy after years of living in Florida, I'm know I'm going to have to learn how to use a drysuit and get used to fresh water.

A more immediate need is to have our regs serviced (Mares and Aqualung) and my tanks viz'd before head off to Florida at the end of the month.

Being new to the area and not knowing anyone, I'm looking for recommendations for a LDS for the above and info on dive clubs. I live in Lakeville and work in the Bloomington/Eden Prairie area. I will admit I've been spoiled by having so many close choices in Florida, but where I live/work would not limit my going further afield for the right shop.

Marc

PS - I guess I'm going to have to look into changing my screen name as well. ;)

Hey Marc,
What did you do to get the boot from FL to the frozen tundra~! I love Florida and get down about 6-8 times a year as my wife will not move!
Hey you ever get the drysuit thing and get over my way will try to get you out on LakeMichigan, not the Atlantic temps wise but last year the vis was Great,More than I had in November off WPB,
Good luck on the move and have fun on spring break I am back down in a month or so to shake off some cold and do some major diving !

Hey Marc,

Have fun in here. Now Jenny can bust on you in the winter just like she does me.

You can get a warm water fix in August if you go to France Park in Logansport, Indiana. It's only 25 feet deep but that means by the end of summer it's warm enough for a 3mm. I think it was over 80 last year but my memory is fuzzy. I do know I was comfy in a full 3mm for an hour and I usually wear a 1/4" in Florida :)

LOL - I chose to come here - well that and a lot of money. People are still telling me I'm nuts, but I'm enjoying it.
