Hiya fellow Cheesehead! :D Yep, Lake Wazee takes a pretty good dip once you hit that thermocline! The coldest I've seen during the summer was 48°F around 105' while it was ~71° at the surface.

RocketMan:
Hi ya doing. Is it snowing yet?

No snow yet... I hear they had some in northern Minnesota already though. Its been in the 50's and rain around here lately. Give it a couple weeks though ;)

Wow you leave tomorrow for cancun? Boy am I jealous. Check out Manta Divers right next to Fat Tuesday. We were with them in Jan. A great bunch of people.

Hi Jon,
Snow yuck.....Diving Yumm.....Packers Yippee!!!!
You a Packer fan lost on Mich?

Kinda .... i root for the Pack if they aren't playing my two main teams .... the Lions & Steelers. It comes from going to college in the UP. You were in serious trouble if you weren't a Packer fan when in the UP. ;)

Cheddarchick,
Besides Wazee and Lake Michigan, you might consider Redgranite Quarry. I understand the viz is really good right now and they're seeing some freshwater jellies. Also, Devil's Lake is a good one to build experience in. There is another Pearl Lake up here that's nice. Not the one near Beloit; there's another Pearl Lake near Redgranite. Happy diving.
Mike

oh, you might want to check out wiscuba.com.

Thanks a ton. Heard about the jellys.. What is up with that? Freshwater jelly fish???

CheddarChick:
Wreck Dive??? I freeze in a 7mm at 60* LOL You want me to go down into the frigid depths? We never have been on a wreck dive but it sounds fasinating. Have you been up to Wazee?

Really? Its been warmer on this side of the pond. We've noticed it fishing also. But i'm hoping on hope that your right. Would mean less lake effect snow for us this winter. ;)

Welcome CheddarChick. How about them Packers last Sunday eh?

TC The winds man,The winds. We had some warm water down to 50' the next week gone! You got it we did not,but the vis was good and we did not loose too many weekends on the lake to weather, but now YUCK! Got to get a few more dives in prior to the boat storage.

try a search on wiscuba.com. I guess they're not true jelly fish but look like them and can only be seen a couple of weeks out of the year. Apparently, now is the time.

Yes, good for warmer water and bad for snow accumulation. I'd rather have the colder water. Lots and lots of acorns this year ..... not good unless you're a squirrel. ;)
