My wife and I are poised on the edge of the scuba diving universe ready to jump in. We live in southwest Florida but it seems that there is not much diving here for some reason.
We are somewhat intimidated by the initial and ongoing costs of this sport. Like any other sport, to improve you have to do it regularly. How do people make this somewhat economical?

Those of you who have gone through this might have better insight.

howdy and welcome from your southeast florida neighbor....don't know where in southwest florida you are but there is boat and shore diving in Venice and other places over there.......Florida also has great diving on the Atlantic side for just a short drive....
