Hello everyone!
I just registered at SB and my first post is for introducing myself. I'm Guido Leurs, 19 years young and live in the Netherlands. I study Applied Biology and I love sharks (and all other wildlife, but sharks especially). In my third year I have to do (and I look forward to) a 6 month internship in a foreign country, and I want to study sharks during this time if possible. Helping with a research project in Australia or something..
I start this summer with diving, just bought a voucher to get my PADI Open Water for half the price
My plan is to do (if the money allows) the Advanced Open water also before my internship.
In my off time I love reading about ocean research and conservation on the internet, and I'm a volunteer of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (think you know it, most divers know it!), the conservation organization from Animal Planet's Whale Wars.
So nice to be connected with you guys, hope I can learn a lot about diving and maybe you guys can learn something from me (I'll do my best). Maybe if someone had advise for doing my internship or something, thats much appreciated! Also advice for purchasing my mask, snorkel and fins.. because I don't know what's more important than that the material fits correctly.. I saw a nice Mares mask on internet, but I think it is better to buy it in a store, to feel how it fits (or not?).
