Hello from So. Fla newb

never dove before, other than just snorkeling once in the bahamas. have always wanted to and am now serious about getting certified. I love being out ON the water, but want to explore the world under the water. I plan to mostly dive the local reefs off Ft. lauderdale from my Sea-Doo, and then some Keys trips after I get some experience. Anybody have advice on where I should go to do the certification?

welcome to SB. Try and find a local Dive Shop (LDS) that offers the OW course. Or maybe you can find a private instructor as well.

We have an incredibly active group here in south Florida, great folks who are tons of fun to dive with. There's something going on for just about every weekend. I'd pop on in to the Florida Conch Divers forum and introduce yourself there as well, plus they would be the folks to ask about finding the right instructor.
