Hi outofofficebrb, and Eric.
Thanks for the greeting!

Been up here from SoCal 6 years, Dive in Monterey, San Carlos beach.

Come on up to the Sonoma coast if you get bored, lot’s of really great diving and closer than Monterey.
Check out one of Seal’s Water Sports fun dives sometime. I’ve missed the last two, but they put on an abalone feeding dive, where participants take kelp from the beach and go out and feed it to starving abalone. They also do an urchin round up. These are usually at Stillwater Cove Park and normally the second Saturday or Sunday of the month.
As you might have heard, they closed the abalone season indefinitely due to crisis low levels of abslone. It’s due to starvation and competition for food from the urchins. It’s a long story as to the cascading effects of how this all happened, but it had nothing to do with sport take.
Anyway, at Seals they decided to do something about it and a gal that works at the shop leads these dives.
