My wife and I are relatively new to the Florida area but are having a great time diving in Florida. Its great to live somewhere where you can dive all the time.

Looking forward to learning from everyone here.

I am new to the board also but welcome. I live in Kissimmee. Where have you been so far? How many dives have you logged? My wife and kids are getting are cert in a couple of weeks and would like to knwo some good spots to go.

Welcome to all of you. Be sure to stop by the Florida Conch Divers' forum here and say hello to the rest of us locals. We have over 200 divers around the state that meet here to swap stories and advice and to set up dive trips. You can find out more about specific dive dates by looking in the Private Trips folder. (They're not really "private", just not commerical advertisements.)

If you haven't tried it yet, be sure to catch one of our South Florida beach dives. They're easy, cheap, and really fun, especially the surface intervals! Feel free to drop in on any of these dives. You'll have some instant dive buddies!

And JLWest63 - good luck to the family as you proceed through your cert course. You may want to drop by the New2Scuba forum and compare notes with other divers who are also just beginning to learn the sport. It's a great resource, especially when things aren't going quite as smoothly as they should.

Best wishes and safe ascents,
Grier

If you and your wife are ever down near PSL or WPB are let me know. MY wife and I would like to dive with yall

I'm in Longwood and dive almost every weekend. Let me know if you need a partner sometime.

Thanks for all the kind welcomes.

I have been diving for ten years now with over 100 dives.

My wife (thennel) has been diving for about 2 years with about 50 dives.

Our most recently dive out of the US was in Iceland (dry suit). I had a great time but my wife's suit had a hole in so she got real cold. Vis about 300 feet easily. It was truly awesome. I'll try to get some pictures on line in a few days to post.

But now living in Florida we are exciting to continue to meet people along the way and see what Florida has to offer.
