Hello Everyone,
My name is Allan; I have been trained by TriCity Scuba Center in Kitchener Ontario. I have my PADI Advanced and three specialties. My plans are to progress on up to scuba master by next year and possibly up to Dive master. All my dives have been in the Great Lakes and I have to say the ship wrecks in Tobermory are the best. If you are not scared of the cold as low as 38 to 41 degrees F at 100 feet then you would love it. My first salt water dives are coming up on Oct 4 down in Bahamas for seven days, looking forward to it.
Cheers

Welcome to the board.
I would skip the Bahamas. It will make it too difficult to get back into the cold water. Seriously, I hope you have a great trip and enjoy it.

Sounds like you have some good local diving as well. 38-41F, I would need to upgrade to a cold water regulator. But I bet the diving would be worth it. You never know, I might be knocking on your e-mail door one day looking for a local dive buddy.

Enjoy the diving and the board.

Welcome to :sblogo: Allan. I know Tri-City very well .....a great shop and here you have a tremendous amount of knowledge and wisdon (and opinion) from everybody. Warm Water is where you will get spoiled and will automatically start booking the next trip. I leave for Bonaire on the 11th of October and cannot wait.

Welcome to the board. I went to the Bahamas once and dove the wrecks with Stuart Coves. I had a great time but it wasn't enough to warrant more than a "I'd like to get back there one day". I went to Tobermory three years in a row, it's a 12 hour drive but well worth it ;)

Ok but Ber, fess up. You just like doing the Tobermory Shuffle (I think that is what it is called) off the G&S boat.

"Tobermory Twist" ;) Actually I've never dove off that boat, I always request the Joseph Simon with the lift on the back. They've taken us out with 3 people on a boat that holds something like 20 YAY!
