My name is Trish and I am new to the forum setting. My ex-husband was addicted to them so I stayed away. Being newly divorced I find that I have extra time on my hands and am looking to find friends with similar interests. I have been in the legal profession for the past nine years, however, I am currently unemployed since I just divorced my boss! :11: I have a unique family makeup involving three children ages 11 (my biological sister), 9 (adopted daughter but biological niece) and 4 yo son. The nine year old was diving in the florida keys with her own gear (her BC even had a croch strap) when she was 7, and my son was snorkeling with jew fish when he was three. I love the ocean and everything in it, even the things that bite and sting.

I was certified in 2000 in St. Lucia, usually spend a couple weeks a year in the Keys taking pictures and lobster diving. I have my advanced and ean certifications, and enjoy night dives, shipwrecks, reef diving and anything else that is adventurous and beautiful to photograph. I use a digital camera in a casing with external flash and 128 mg card so I don't have to change film between dives and usually bring alone the laptop to instantly see how horrible my pics are (every once in a while I get lucky). To me there is no better stress reliever than being underwater.

Heya Trish, welcome to the board! Congrats on the new divorce :D (sorry, couldn't help it). If your ever in my neck of the woods and want a dive buddy, send me a pm. Sounds like you have a very interesting kiddie klan going on up there, I'd be curious to know how you make it all work.

Cheers,
Vickie

Welcome a board newbie from a newbie. Sorry to hear of your troubles. Hug the kids they'll bring you comfort. I have two we took under our wing as well due to the path that there parents took. Look forward to reading your posts.

The kids just think of each other as siblings with me as the mother goose. No different than having a normal set of three children (whatever normal means). I am heading down to Big Pine Key for spring break and hope to get some diving done there? Where are you in comparison (how many miles)?
