Hi All,

I've been lurking on the boards for awhile so finally thought it's about time I should say hello. I've been certified since Sept. of 2000 & have loved SCUBA ever since the first time I went down in the pool. Unfortunately I'm landlocked in MO. But, I am trying to relocate to the south east...just have to find the right job. In the meantime I dive the local lakes. Some are better than others, visibility wise....Tablerock is like swimming in brown gravy. But it's better than the bathtub & we dive where we can, right? Anyway...just wanted to say HI! :05:

Welcome to ScubaBoard scubachick! Hey, Missouri is only a hop, skip and a jump to some really great diving. Have you tried Lake of the Ozarks?

Hey, it took me 35 years of diving Table Rock before I finally got to move to Florida – don’t wait as long as I did.

Welcome aboard and check out all the Missouri divers around here.

Thanks! Actually I've heard Lake Of The Ozarks isn't good diving....not sure why, unless it's all the boat traffic. I've dived Bull Shoals, Beaver, & Norfork lakes & they're all clearer than Tablerock, but Tablerock is the closest and is where I got certified. The fish are fun to play with in Tablerock....wiggle your fingers & they'll come nip at them. :)

Thanks! I don't have 35 years! By then I'll be retired so hopfully something will come along waaaay before then. Florida would be ideal. I've got my resume posted & am checking several job sites. Sad thing is, I really like the company I work for.....but I love diving more, so first chance I get...I'm outta here!

Hello from the great Ozarks. Welcome to the board and hope you have a great time in Misery, Like I am having. 17 years and then I will be able to dive warm Salt water all the Time :D . How was the diving at Beaver Lake? My dive buddy and myself are headed down there with our families and doing some diving. We just went diving @ Table Rock on the 18th of August. It was very dark, :D ok maybe that was because I was trying out my new Primary and Secondary dive lights. It was the usual vis about 5 to 10 feet. Unusually low water level and also the temp at 75 FT was 40 degrees, BRRRR for my dive buddy because he forgot his hood. I had my 7M suit, hood gloves and boots. Because of the temp and the vis we only stayed down 11 minutes. Again Welcome to SB

I dive weekly, or at least try to at mermet springs www.mermetsprings.com it's not too bad. shoot me a PM if you need a buddy, as I am always looking for one to dive during the week. Mon-Thurs..

I dived at Beaver last summer & it was pretty good as far as lake diving goes. The drive down was horrible...we got hit with a terrible rainstorm with hail. It rained all day & that made it pretty chilly on the boat between dives. Once in the water, though, the diving was good. Vis was better than Tablerock & there were lots of trees & rock overhangs to swim through.

Welcome to SB Scubachick01....enjoy the board and it could be worse...misery isn't that bad...you could be stuck there without diving...:59:

Welcome to the board!
