Hello,my name is will. My wife, brother and 3 nieces are now finally certified. It took us 4 months of working around work and my nieces school stuff but were finally ready to explore. We have all purchased our own gear and have lots of pool experience. My wife and i were able to get i dive under our belts last week at my dads lake. Vis was great at 30 feet 20 feet or so and very poor at 40. Lots of fish and things people have lost over the years. Sence we are new to diving i have joined scuba board to help us find more places in michigan to dive. Make dive friends and learn a thing or so. We will mainly be michigan divers with a trip here or there to the south. Would love hear from people with some great dive places around michigan. We live close to lapeer michigan and have a cabin in houghton lake. We cant wait to dive higgins lake. We started out this past saturday but was stopped by a all day rain so we packed it up and headed home. Well i guess i could type all day but ill leave the rest to the forums. Hello again.

Welcome to Scubaboard. Diving in MI is pretty good with many divers in the state. In fact, I'm a part time resident, soon to be full time.

Again, welcome!

Good Evening wickedwilly! I’m over here in Traverse City. Lived here all my life and there are some easy and enjoyable shore dives in the area with a good few in the bays with nicer clearer waters. Congrats on your cents! Way to go! 👍🏻
