This is a big hello to everyone on the forums. I've been lurking for a little while now, so decided it was finally time to join up!
While I live in Melbourne, i've only ever dived in warm weather spots. I was introduced to diving by my GF during a trip to Thailand earlier in the year. I did two dives as part of a "discover diving" day in Koh Lipe, and after the first couple of minutes fell in love with diving. (the first couple of minutes in the shallows doing basic skills was awkward, once in the deep I was fine). Got to dive a spot called "Stone Henge" + another that I forget the name of.
So the next trip was planned - this time to Vanuatu where i completed my OW cert, then got to spend a week diving the SS Coolidge. So I might be a bit spoilt. I've come back to Melbourne all excited, spent a bunch of cash on my own diving gear, and am booked in to a nav course so that I know where the hell i'm going underwater.
I hope the journey from being a novice to a competent diver continues to be exciting and I become confident enough to explore some of Melbournes deep wrecks in the near future.
Just need to adjust to diving in water that's 13C (55F) rather than 26C (79F).
I also wanted to say sorry in advance for any dumb questions I ask. I promise to use the search first though
Cheers!
