Hi, I'm new to scuba and the boards. My husband and I went to Destin, FL to get OW certified a couple of weeks ago. He made it I didn't. I didn't even make it to the deep end of the pool. I did finish all the book work passed that. Don't know what happened never had a fear of water....love it ...live on it. The experience was great tho. Still trying to figure out what to do. Going to a closer dive shop next week to see what they recommend. We didn't have enough time in FL for our instructor to work with me but she offered and was real nice. Gave me some tips on nose breathing to practice at home. I'm not willing to give up so I'm here looking for tips and tricks.

Thanks and Hi again,
Lazyj

Thanks for all the welcomes! We live in a little place called Monterey. LA. It's about 30 minutes from Natchez, Ms.

I really don't know what happened in the pool. There was another group on the other side of the pool and when we started to the deep end to do the exercises the ppl got smaller and the water got larger and darker. I wanted to run but I didn't, I just stopped, breathed and stayed there. Couldn't go any further. I never did make the deep end so I have work to do just not sure what?

Welcome Lazyj. My sister lives in Monterey. I live far away in Slidell. Hang in there, if you want to do it, most instructors will work with you as long as you are willing. You won't regret it either....best sport / hobby in the world. Mark Michaud
