Just signed up today. Have renewed my interest in diving with a recent trip to Maui and purchasing a Sea & Sea Dx-1g camera. Found this forum while looking for tips on underwater photography. Would be interested in weekend diving out of Ventura Harbor to Anacapa or Redondo/San Pedro/Long Beach to Catalina this sept/Oct.

Welcome to Scubaboard.

Out of Ventura the Peace and the Spectre are both excellent boats that I have gone out on. The Spectre runs a very inexpensive and usually uncrowded boat on Wednesday and Thursday. The Raptor is a get there fast small boat (no bunks) as well.

In the LA area, the Great Escape, The Bottom Scratcher are two very good boats that would get my business.

Then of course there is what I do, the very affordable BEACH DIVE off of our many excellent sites right here on the mainland. From Ventura through to Orange County, just the cost of a nice drive to the beach and an air fill. sandeaters.org will get you descriptions of the dive sites.

Of course don't forget to visit the UNITED STATES, CALIFORNIA KELP DIVERS, SOCAL forum right here and give a shout out to the locals.

Anyway welcome back to diving and I will see you in the water.

Welcome!

The posts above me did well explaining the boats and groups, including our own So Cal Forum .
You mentioned Ventura and I will second the Peace as an awsome boat. The Sunfish is also a good boat with a great crew! (The fact that some of us Beach Crabs are on the video on their homepage has nothing to do with it)

Welcome again and enjoy!

welcome aboard
