Name is John new to diving I just found this board I wa wondering if there are any Long Island Divers here ?

Hey John, I'm from West Virginia now but was born and raised on Long Island. And yes, there are Long Island divers here. Where are you from on Long Island?

Welcome to the board!

Here are some tips to make your time at Scubaboard a fantastic experience:

1. Fill out your profile. This lets us get to know you! Who knows, maybe there are others out there who share your love of underwater basket weaving!

2. Check out the forum on Scubaboard that is specific to your geographical location.

3. Don't hesitate to ask any dive-related questions you may have. There WILL be someone here who knows the answer. There also may be people who are sarcastic or attempt to make you feel silly for asking questions. Keep in mind that Scubaboard is like a salad bar. Take what you like and leave the rest!

4. When available, really get involved IN PERSON. Several of us regularly attend local functions where we dive and dine together. It really does enhance your Scubaboard experience!

Welcome!

Live in Babylon 1/2 mile from the water only problam is that its cold and merky LOL

I was from West Hempstead but grandparents lived in East Hampton. I can't believe I didn't learn to dive when I was growing up since I spent so much time in and under the water. Would love to go back and dive in Gardiner's Bay. That's where I spent all my time.

i am not really a fan of NY diving the water is cold (at its warmest you wear a 7mm) and at very best vis is maybee 15ft and thats deep and when you go deeper it gets colder

I'd rather be diving in NY than working! Ponquogue Bridge in Hamptons rocks. Jetties at Mt Sinai have tons of blackfish. Get out on a charter and look at a wreck field. It's all good and will make that vacation dive a breeze!
