Hi there!

Wish I could dive more often. It is rather a challenge to find like-minded dive partners, even in Florida of all places!

How do you guys and girls deal with this issue?

Susie

Welcome overboard.

Hard to believe you're having difficulties finding a dive buddy in Florida. I married mine.

Good luck in your search. Have you checked the Florida forum?

welcome aboard...

i solved all my buddy problems by checking with the Florida Conch Divers. come on
down some time; we're a good bunch to dive with, and chances are you'll find at
least one of us near you

The trick is finding divers that have similar goals and are close enough to get together easily and who have the ability to go dive when you do.

Where in FL are you?

Hey there, glad you found ScubaBoard. I had the same problem when I found SB. I had a hard time finding dive buddies, and I live in an area surrounded by divers! So, ditto what Andy and Michael said. The Conch Divers http://www.scubaboard.com/f55.html are a good bunch of folks, at least the ones I have dived with. Dives are always being planned, and if a dive is posted, then it is an invitation to join the fun. The group here in the Southeast get together quite a bit and beach dive. Join us sometime.

After finding this board I've never had a problem finding buddies and opportunities to dive. In fact, it's now become a problem being able to get out and dive as often as I'd like to with all the get togethers that are posted here.

Welcome aboard from Tampa, Susiehouston.

Ahoy there susiehouston! Welcome to the board!! Feel free to jump in anywhere and ask questions or just leave your 2psi. :DYou may be intersted in the forums under The Art of Scuba Diving. Under that heading you'll find New to Scuba, Dive into Fitness, Public Safety and many more that as you become involed with the sport may or may not interest you depending upon where your intersts grow online.

Another forum area that may interest you is the URL=http://scubaboard.com/f42.html]Scuba Board Clubs[/URL] section of the board (espeically the Florida Conch Divers) where many of us coordinate meeting up for dives, getting together, trips around the state to different dive sites, and some general prattle about diving with others from our state/regions.

Personally - I used to have that problem with finding like-minded buddies, much less like minded! Ft Myers is the mecca of Dinner Club Divers (they talk about thier last yearly dive trip, no so much going out every week to dive!). I signed up on Scuba Board and that problem was solved!! I have had the pleasure to meet, dive, and spend time with some excellent people and great buddies for diving and my log book is very representative of that! Hope to dive with you soon!!
