I recently joined these forums to ask some questions about used scuba tanks. There's so much useful information and so many people with good opinions around here that I think I might have to stay a while!

My diving adventure started in earnest last fall when I took an OW PADI class from my university (Oregon State). I liked it so much that I took AOW back to back with OW then went on to get my Nitrox cert the next week, and Rescue Diver the following week. At the beginning of January I found my way to Utila, Honduras for some diving and another cert in wreck diving (who else has dove on the SS Haliburton?). In January I got a night diver specialty and started divemaster training. In march I got both a deep diver cert and an underwater hunter cert. In April I finished my divemaster training and also received my research diver certification from my university through the auspices of the American Academy for Underwater Science Standards. As of Sunday, I stand at 89 dives, the bulk of which have been in Oregon and Washington.

I'm about five months away from finishing my masters degree in mechanical engineering. Next stop is a PhD (piled higher and deeper) because I want to be poor or in fear for my tenure for the rest of my life. I'm seriously considering switching fields for my PhD to something that puts me out diving for my research and work. Anyone have any ideas?

Anyone else from the Willamette Valley on here?

Oh, and if anyone happens to have some lightly used tanks that they want to sell... :D
