Hey everyone. New to this site. I am a new diver. I went to Hawaii last year and tried scuba diving aboard the Triology ship. It was awesome! I wasn't certified, so the trainer gave me a 30 minute training course on the way out to sea and about an hour later I was down 65 feet swimming with turtles in the Molokini reef. I loved it so much I got certified as soon as I got back to Colorado. I've dived the Crater in Utah which was pretty cool and I dived Bonniville Sea Base out there in Utah which was alright. Unfortuneately I haven't found too many places worth diving in Colorado. So if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them :)

Welcome to Scubaboard! Welcome to diving!
You will get your best info on Colorado diving by going to this forum: Rocky Mountain Oysters - ScubaBoard
There are really not too many good places to dive in Colorado. Some of us have done expeditions to high mountain lakes that are clear. Most of the reservoirs are silty.
The clearest deep water is to be found at the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, NM.
We are having a big Scubaboard picnic, dive, and get together at Aurora Reservoir next Saturday, June 5th. Info is on the RMO forum.
Maybe we will see you there!

Pretty cool that you did the Crater. I was there last May, one of the many National Parks I visited during my 6 month journey. There was 13' of snow in early May! Hope you had a dry suit! :cold:

I just joined the forum this site as well and I am also Denver based. I've been diving for quite a while, I finally dove in Utah (both the Crater and Seabase) last year. I haven't made it to Santa Rosa, NM yet. Thanks for the tip about RMO, looks like there may be a Santa Rosa meet later this year.

I misread, I was talking about Crater Lake in Oregon (with 13' of snow). Oops! I didn't go to the crater in Utah.

welcome aboard
