Hello from Colorado Springs

Welcome back to diving! Besides the Blue Hole in NM, there's Homestead Crater in Utah, and of course, Chatfield Reservoir.

Yeah I noticed that there are a lot of divers here that are from Colorado. Would be cool to have a get together sometime. Im curious trying diving in the lakes since they are there. Will first work on a dry suit specialty though.

I believe aurora opens to diving around the first of April. I need to check into it, but will probably post a get together idea around the second weekend of April.

Cool. Just bought a new BCD and will test it in Underwater Connections pool in COS this thursday. Im really excited to get wet.

Did you tell them you were thinking of doing a dry suit specialty and diving locally before you bought that BCD?

As an explanation, that is a jacket style BCD, with the air surrounding the diver's midsection. Most dry suit instructors will recommend a back inflate BCD or a back plate and wing for diving with a dry suit. It's not that you can't do it with a jacket BCD, but it is not usually recommended, largely because the pressure from the air around the mid section impacts the suit inflation and its flow of air. A back inflate BCD and back plate and wing style puts the air around the tank and off the body.

I am planning on buying a back plate with a wing type bladder before doing the dry suit course. The Mares would be for regular type dives. Thanks for the advice.
