Hey all!
Just registered after a while of lurking. I am a relatively new scuba enthusiast after being drawn in while buying new free diving gear. I, as I have read from a few other people here, feel at home in the water and it seems to be my zen place! I recently moved back to Martha’s Vineyard, where I grew up, and am looking to find a few diving buddies locally. I own most of my own gear and am hoping to finish up AOW and get my first few wreck dives in this spring. I have a dive capable boat and would love to explore all the cool places I know about around the island and further afield.
Last fall I found and have marked a few wrecks I want to explore nearby, as well as research some more famous attractions nearby.
Any other northeast wreck enthusiasts here?
Any cape cod or island folk looking for some adventuring buddies?

Cheers

I'm a longtime New Orleans transplant, but grew up in Mass Bay, occasionally visiting the Vineyard or Nantucket. Didn't dive til much later mostly in warmer Gulf Coast or East coast Florida climes but have dived a little in visits north. There are a couple of wrecks north of the Cape (colder water but less tidal current than Vineyard Sound, namely, Barnstable, Sandwich, Woods Hole beach,) and a really good but cold one off Gloucester, the CHESTER A. POLING, which sunk in the winter of '76 or '77 while I was still in Boston and in the Coast Guard and it has a harrowing but great rescue story by them.
Fort Wetherill near Newport, is a decent shore dive. That's about it for my Mass. diving life. Mostly I sailed and raced around there, before my dive life came along much later.

Best wishes and some "real" present-day New England divers can chime in better and more recently than can I.
