I have recently got into diving. Yes, my husband is my buddy. He actually introduced it to me. I started my classes at Blue Water Scuba in Nashville,TN. Went on vacation for a while in Hawaii and finished up the open water part and the advanced part. I was able to get in a wreck, swim throughs, and night dives. I ended that trip with 13 dives and added two more with dives in San Diego. A big difference in visibility!! I love it though and my husband is great with waiting on me when we do off shore swims. I'm 5'6" 125lb but out of shape! I guess swimming really does show you that part.
I'm now looking into doing dives around Panama City, FL area. If anyone can give me some heads up on that it would be appreciated. I live near Dothan, AL.
Thanks and happy diving to all,

Welcome--we're in Montgomery and try to dive PC a couple times a year but the weather always thwarts us on the few days we can get down there. Who is your local dive shop? We LOVE Sea Divers in Ozark and just discovered Divers Den--nice folks. But we've started to dive more with Hydrospace than Sea Divers (who use PCDC).

Well, We haven't been diving since we got here yet. We are itching to go. Hopefully the weather will ease up a bit and not rain so darn much. I've only used divers den a couple of times. that was to get a wet suit and some information. they are really helpful and nice. my husband used a dive shop just off the main bridge in PCB. I think it was not to far from the air force base. I can't remember b/c that was about 3 or so years ago. Hope the weather improves for both of us.
happy diving,
shannon

Welcome aboard! Be sure to check out the Florida Conch Divers forum. You might want to post that you're looking for Panama City buddies there. We've got lots of divers all over the state.

Best wishes and safe ascents,
Grier
