Hiya folks,

Just wanted to introduce myself to you all. My name is Arch and I finished my OW course a couple of months ago. I'm Australian but currently living in Tokyo, Japan.

Needless to say I'm thoroughly hooked and trying to dive as often as possible each month and trying to learn as much as I can. I pretty much eat, breathe and sleep diving and wake up the same way each morning. :D

Unfortunately, the cost of diving is a bit prohibitive in Japan, but I'm so hooked that I look at the cost of each day's dive as an investment. Which is where things stand with me at the moment. I plan on taking this right through to Instructor level over the next 2 years.

Anyway, hope to get to know some of you over time and look forward to sharing info/knowledge and learning more about diving with you all.

Take care,

Arch

You will learn so much here. Sometimes it seems the information is endless. You'll have fun & a few laughs too. Possibly even find yourself some dive buddies. The best part is we all love scuba, so you'll fit in here perfectly.

welcome aboard!

I seem to want to read every little post and if my boss only knew the amount of "work" time on this board!! LOLOL

I am always checking out the latest posts and getting some great ideas and advise! This is a wonderful source for newbies!!!

Thanks all!!!

Greetings and welcome to Scubaboard!!!

If it's too expensive in Japan drop by the Philippines. Diving's much cheaper and a lot better. PM me if you're ever in the area.

Happy diving

It's expensive here too Arch so I feel your pain. For me though it's a small price to pay for my sanity. I HAVE to dive. :D

Hehe Jive. I'm exactly the same way. Every week that goes by without a dive increases my mental "unease". And lord knows, I'm unstable enough as it is. :D

Its a hard line to balance actually, on the one hand I need to dive to enjoy and keep sanity but on the other, the money is better saved and put toward a diving trip back to Thailand or Malaysia. Oh well....if I have to juggle, the more practice I get the better. :out:

Erwin...planning sometime to go to Malaysia to do some dives. No idea when but when I do I'd love to give ya a pm and get some headsup advice.
