I'm so glad I have found this message board. Have looked at a few posts so far and know I'm going to learn a lot here.

My name is Stephen and I was just cert. as Open Water this past summer with a buddy. I have recently made a trip to Bermuda and found diving in 79 Deg. water so nice compaired to the typical New England Waters (Little Chilly) but I'm not complaining at all. I think diving anywhere is and would be fantastic.

Thinking about getting my own gear together this winter and will be looking to this board for info on what'sthe best options for me. (Think my wife is getting me a gift cert. to the LDS for my b-day).

I guess that's it for now, looking forward to talking with you all.

Howdy Stephen! :hi:

And welcome to Scuba Board - a great place to hang out, learn, compare, argue :stick: etc.

I'd driven around your state some in the summer, and found it very pretty; I think I snow skied there once, when I doing a two week school in Connecticut; diving there - could certainly be interesting. But like you, I like the warmer waters from NC south.

For best results, put SB in your computer's Favorites lists, and maybe Expedia, too - so you can shop for frequent getaways.

Welcome aboard. This is an informative place. There is nothing like having you own gear. Enables you to dive more and get familiar with the gear. You will know what condition it is in. Best advise I can give is to soak it after every dive for about an hour , dry it and the store it in a moderate enviorment. That way it will last and be dependable.

Come on!

Who would want to dive down south when you have all that murky cold atlantic water available.

Cold water diving is the only way to go.

nah chance... give me warm waters any day. None of this drysuit malarky, pair of shorties is they way to go!
