Hi everyone. Subscribed to scuba forum last week. Have been enjoying myself going through the forums.

I have not dived in a while, and my plan is to do some quality diving next year.

Any new cool spots in Asia Pacific. I only like warm waters. (I found red sea too cold for me in winter). =-)

Hey GotAir,

Last I dived, thumbs down still meant down/dive. Thumbs up would be up/out. There were no okay symbols.

=-) =-)

Yeah - I've wondered about those. In Scuba, thumbs down or up is for going down or up, and we use the OK sign for A-OK.

This thumb :thumb: though, looks more like A-OK, and we don't have a real OK sign on SB. Odd, huh?

Stay down as long as you can! Get your money's worth out of that tank.

Well, if you ever decide to venture into colder waters - there's plenty of water up here in Alaska!

I've had a problem with the thumbs up/ thumbs down issue - I am the worst about giving the thumbs up sign when things are ok... then I see my buddy ascending and I'm chasing them wondering "what is the hand sign for WHOOPS!"?

I recently became a member as well and have found a wealth of knowledge here. Folks are more than willing to share opinions and provide information. I've found that using PM (Personal Messaging) is a great way to get specific answers from a member to questions you feel they can anwer for you.

Have fun!
