LaGrange Georgia
Hello everyone, I am a new member and would like to introduce myself. I have recently located to LaGrange Georgia (1 hr south of Atlanta), and I am looking for buddies to dive with. I will be going to all the local quarries in north Alabama and spending a lot of time in the gulf coast area.

I am always looking to dive, and I can tolerate cold water, so if you would like to get together for trips. Please let me know.

Studley !!!
Welcome to the ScubaBoard.
There are several of us in the Atlanta area that dive at Lake Lanier almost every weekend.
While it may not be the best diving in the world, it does afford the opportunity to dive frequently and establish a good corps of dive buddies.
You can usually find us in the Deep Dixie Divers forum.

Safe dives . . .
. . . safer ascents

The Kraken

Hey thanks Kraken!! I was just reading an exchange where a few of your were talking about the lake. Where exactly is the lake? I'm a relatively new dive about 20 dives. I do have a full setup, but I don't own tanks yet. Can you rent locally? I am dying to get wet. My last trip was to Bonne Terre Mine in January. I am also thinking about making a run to some of the northern springs during the first or second weekend in March.

I need another week or so to get settled in LaGrange. After that, I'm ready to go. I'd love to come hang out and introduce myself. The next time your having a get together, please let me know.

Lake Lanier is about 35 miles north of Atlanta. For you it would be a straight shot up I-85 to Georgia 400 north. Probably about 1-1/2 drive for ya.

There are numerous dive shops in the greater Atlanta area. I'm sure one of us wouldn't mind picking up a couple of tanks for you.

The temps below the thermocline are about 48 F year round. So if you want to get down a little deeper you'll need the exposure protection.

We'll be waiting to hear from ya.

Thats not a bad drive. I have been working with the local shop in LaGrange, and they seem like a nice group. I would likely pick up a few tanks from them. Can you get them filled at the lake?

On another note, I have also been reading about the cooper river trips. Thats sounds like a lot of fun!! Have you been yourself?

Welcome to the board!

Welcome!
If you are ever planning a trip to the Destin area drop me a PM. I'll see what my schedule looks like. You can see what several of us are up to on the Florida Conch forum.

Heya Studley, Welcome to Scubaboard and the Atlanta Area. I live about 30 minutes north of Atlanta but dive at Lanier with the Kracken and some other members. I also like to dive in the panhandle quite a bit and planned on making the rounds on the quarries over the summer months. Lanier was actually 44 degrees on the surface the other day, heh, it gets cold in the winter. If you are ever looking for some buddies to go out for some trips drop me a line,

Matt
