Welcome to the board sir. I have a former co-worker and close buddy who works in J-Town there and has dove some around there while off from work. He always speaks highly of the great diving, and even better energized night life.

Good to meet you Boaz. The dives in Alabama are nice, but not as good as they are elsewhere I must admit.

My friend has been begging me to visit him for a weekend. We both departed the states to different parts of the world in 06. I went to Iraq, he to Israel. Our first plan was for me to take my first R&R to meet up with him in Cairo and do some diving, however I was late putting in for my days off and was not able to make the trip. I've since have came back home; however since his work environment was a lil more friendly than Iraq he has chosen to stay. He nearly lives a normal lifestyle short of being away from his family. I spent nearly two years in the sandbox and could not get the hell out of there fast enough. lol.

As for my job? Yes. Sometimes it's very rewarding; other times just damn right disgusting. Occasionally we do get a good save in, and it always brings a smile when we get a thank you. Truthfully for me, the rewarding part of my job is the calls we get to older resident homes just for a simple lift assist. The younger generation could give a **** about the services you have to offer, but make no mistake when you arrive to give assistance to an elder person, the hand shake you offer them means the world. When these folks say thank you, they mean every word of it. The rides to the hospital listening and talking to my patients about farming, hunting, and past military stories are priceless. So in short, yes I like it when I succeed in a good save, but I love it more when I make a new friend by helping someone overcome a situation they would not ordinarily have been able to do alone.

Safe diving to you my friend.

Kenny
