I just wanted to take a chance to say hey. I'm very new to diving, in fact so new I have yet to do it. I just signed up yesterday at Lone Star Scuba for the PADI Open Water cert class, and I'm now eagerly awaiting the start of that class on Aug 5th. I live on the west side of Fort Worth, and I'm definitely interested in what is going to be nearby for diving opportunities. My first dives will be my open water cert dives out at Clear Springs Scuba Park.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing and sharing stories over the coming weeks/months/years. What I am looking forward to as my first really big dive experience is a trip to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic next summer. One thing I might find challenging here is that I'll be the only diver on that trip so I'll have to figure out how to hook up with someone to buddy up with. I hope that doesn't end up being a problem.

Well, that's all for now. Catch you all around.

Scott

Welcome svnipp, I am sure once you get under water you will very much enjoy it.
I also am on the west side of Ft Worth so once you get your cert hollar at me and I will be happy to dive with you.

Welcome to something you'll enjoy the rest of your life!!

Welcome to the swamp. Always good to find new divers. Really enjoyable to see your posting. With your goal and passion for the water, diving will be lots and lots of fun.

Texas has a wide range of divers to dive locally or out of country with so you have a found a great place to post and blog.

Let us know if you make it out to Austin lots of places to dive on lake travis and always Aquarena for those qualified as Science Divers.

:D

Yeah. I'm totally planning on doing the Science Diver course as soon as possible. Aquarena sounds really interesting, and the wife has been there in years past so I think she would get a real kick out of going too.

Howdy, congrats on your upcoming cert. I'm an Okie (shoot me lol), just certified in June, did my first dives on Lake Murray. If you ever feel like venturing up north a little ways, give me a holler. I have zero dive buddies.

You might shoot an e-mail to Robert at Lake Travis Scuba (link: laketravisscuba.com) after your cert, if you ever want to dive around Austin. I hooked up with him here on Scubaboard, talked to him on the phone, and he's an awesome guy. I am diving down there later this month and really look forward to it.

Anyway, you're in for an experience. Diving is great. I'm already hooked.

Hey,
I am in Mansfield and always looking to dive, again. If you ever need a dive buddy give me a shout. You will love diving as soon as you hit the water.

Howdy svnipp,

Welcome to the Swamp and scuba diving!
