Hey! Welcome to diving! I'm sure you'll find some buddies sooner or later. There's a bunch of divers around here so it won't be too hard. I live kinda close by but I spend most of my time up at UCSB. I haven't dove anything south of Ventura in a while, heh.

Good luck with your class!

Welcome to the world of diving. I hope you will grow to love it as much as I have. Great exercise program and a lot of fun too. Many colleges offer Scuba instruction for college credit in a semester long class. Dive buddies can be found eailsy enough. Talk to your potential dive buddies carefully and pick someone who is conservative and a dive buddy (arms length) and not a same ocean buddy. A posting here will get you wet, or www.sandeaters.org might get you wet as well. Once I get back to the states in a month or two, I plan to get back to diving again and it would be my pleasure to show you the wonders of the ocean (once I take a refresher, always advisable after a long no diving spell).

thanks i would love to dive with you just let me know. Also thank you for your service to out wonderful country. Stay safe

Hey Chewy,

Welcome to diving and the SoCal dive community!

There are a lot of people that you'll be able to dive with when you are certified.

Join us at one of the Wrinkles Dives and you'll get to meet a whole bunch of us in one place. Here is the schedule for the rest of 2007:

Have fun in your class!

Chewy, dont forget, Pacific Wilderness has their own dive club. Pick up one of their events brochures to see upcoming dive outings.

Welcome to diving!

I'm sure you won't have a problem finding a buddy, some wonderful suggestions have been laid out for you already. Joining a dive club definitely sounds like a good idea.

While my wife and I were going through our OW class we (of course) were talking about diving all the time. Well, come to find out a number of our friends (that we've known for years) are also certified and were more than happy to come out and join us after we completed our class! Hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised as well!
