Westpac chopper tasked to injured diver south of Narooma
The Westpac Life Saver rescue chopper at around 1.30pm was tasked by police to help rescue a diver in distress south of the entrance to Nangudga Lake at Narooma.

SEARCH AREA: The search area south of Narooma. Supplied by Westpac Life Saver chopper.

Spokesman Stephen Leahy said the rescue chopper had surveyed the coastline and had now landed to await further instruction.

The helicopter was then tasked to winch its rescue crew down to the injured diver who apparently is at the bottom of a cliff with a number of injuries.

Mr Leahy said the diver has been stabilized on the rock ledge but due to the diver suffering injuries relating to a diving accident, the Snowy Hydro SouthCare chopper had also been dispatched.

The SouthCare chopper was seen flying over Narooma heading south at 1.50pm. More to come

Very likely that it was a spearo as no scuba diving sites near here as far as I know, although could have been illegally after abalone (and there has been a lot of that going on down there).
