So after looking at the strobe arm floats out there, and not really finding anything in my price range I decided to just make my own. Now I have no way to test them in anything deeper than the tub at this point (I hate Wisconsin)..... at least I have it put together.
Before Picture
First I took a pool noodle connector
Cut it in half, trimmed off the extras, put the two halves together and filled it with great stuff (closed cell expanding foam...). I had to fill it a couple of times and drill/fill it in from the sides to make sure it was not hollowed out on the inside.
Measured it for length on the strobe arm, then we drilled it out with a 1/2" bit. (Keeping it straight was the hardest part) We made the hole as small as I could and still slide the strobe thru to help keep it from flopping too much.
Then I made a cool cover for it to keep it from flaking off on everything:
And reassembled it...What fun...
Now I need to get to the ocean and try it out.... Man those are crappy pix but you get the idea
